hi,

taking a welding class.

from a previous question here, I believe I was told that the gauge

was 18 for the fender. when I mentioned this in class the

instructor disagreed politely and stated that most likely the gauge for the

fender was 22 or 24, (something like that), as 18 gauge was mostly used

for cars in the 50's and earlier????

mic'd the metal in a couple spots that I can get to today and it is around .o48

so???

what is the official answer please.

tks
randal
