I have a newbie question. How do you tell the differance
between the side shift and the tail shift transmison.

Hello welcome to the club.

Tailshift - the shift rod goes all the way to the very back of the transmission, drivers side of car.

Sideshift - Shift rod connects about 2/3 the way back on the side of the transmission, drivers side.
