Can Bosch build a starter that won't fail within a year?

Twice this year, I've had the connection between the solinoid and starter motor break on these remanufactured pieces of doodie.

I got my hi-torque starter some 12+ years ago and it still works much better than any of the stock starters ever has.

It has turned over everything from a 1.7L to 1.8L to 2.1L to 3.6L engine.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) 14 years for me...

I have three or four 911 starters in the attic. They came off of both the 914 (as a 2.7 and a 3.6) and my 911. Now all I use only high-torque versions since originality isn't important for me. Never going back... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Buy one of these and never think about it again...

http://www.hitorque.com/searchresults.asp?cat=27

I don't remember the exact model. Call them and they will tell you exactly what you need.

They are either Nippondenso or Hitachi gear reduction starters with a new nose.

Thanks....I have never seen more than half those brands they make starters for!

I also never thought I'd ever see parts in a catalog for a Zamboni (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
