Anyone know what these wheels are? They don't look stock....look like they've been stretched.....maybe 7"-8"? They look pretty cool on this car.

that was pretty popular years ago with the dune buggy crowd. They'd put the vw centers in wider rims. Isn't that were the term "rims" came from.

Bugs the wits out of me when they call wheels "rims" . . .

Widened steel wheels. I had a set of 8" and 9" on my super beetle back in the day ...

That's a true hot rod stance if I've ever seen one- looks badass! They'd look cool on a flared car too but they really make the narrow body pop! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Does anybody have pics of 914's with widened steelies--the early ones, not the + pattern like Super Beetles?

I search from time to time but rarely find them.

Well, if you click on the picture, you can clearly read the "225/50 ZR 15" markings ...

No name tho. Just a face at Bremerton. The buyer's dad ran a 911 w/PCA group. Lots of trick items on that car. Dave E might know the particulars. Just noticed the date stamp. Who knows where that car might be these days. I think it changed hands in 05' or 6' kind of shortly after DS passed. Where did 15 years go?
