I think the black/yellow CA plate with that letter+5 digits sequence is for a trailer FWIW. So It would be more of a 914 wall art.

I definitely didn 't expect anyone to drive with this on there car. I sometimes put classic plates on my project cars while they sit in my garage. I feel it adds to the classic look. Purely decoration. |

Sure thing!
Also FYI & those looking at the plates - the CA-DMV only goes up to 1969 for reassignment of the YOM (Year of Manufacture) plates to cars - so the black/yellow may work for a 70 MY 914 first registered in CA during 1969. Most 914s from CA were registered with blue/yellow plates - unfortunately DMV failed to get the minimum production start number for their repro version of those plates - so they won't be around either to "get the look." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Fortunately I still have my originals. Any white CA plates were re-registered later on with those later plates. Plus the DMV also requires a matching set of both front & rear plates to do so. Good Luck with the Sale! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |

My 1976 914 was registered in CA with blue plates. I still have the pink slip too! Hypothetically, if I lived in CA could I register the car with those blue plates? JW Attached image(s) |

JW Yes the blue plates can be used if you can prove the registration is yours. Blue plates are not transferable to another person. |
