I would like to make my front spoiler quickly removable, and maybe the bumper too.

They are both fiberglass aftermarket parts; the bumper is currently mounted in a basically stock fashion except there are no threaded brackets attached so there are nuts on the front (foghorn grille) side with the stock type bolts on the wheel whell side. The spoiler is affixed to the body with machine screws & nyloc nuts.

Looking for tips and hopefully pics showing how to use dzus fasteners or latch toggles etc. to accomplish this.

If it would be highly beneficial, I suppose I could glass the two pieces together, as I have seen some guys do, but I would rather not do that in case I trash the spoiler in a track "off".

I have the front spoiler that leaves you about 2 inches off the ground. It is fully removable with 5 twists of a screw driver. Plates are mounted on the side panels, two on the bumper, and one in the middle frame. The screws are spring loaded and lock into place. Picts to follow...

Sir Andy gets a fancy paint job and here comes the trash talk!!!!!

It gets ugly with paint chips thanks to the Candlestick sandblasts and the spoiler hits along the driveways.

Thanks for the pics - that's about what I was thinking, but I will have to put the middle fasteners in different locations due to the oil cooler ducting. Still plenty of metal left though.

Did you weld on those tabs, or are they just bolted on? (I'm not welding-enabled...yet)

Here is a tip on getting the f/g bumper on and off quick.

Install the bolts in the metal bumper brackets from the back side of the bracket so they stick thru the bracket and point at the car when the bumper is off the car.

This way all you have to do is stick the bumper with the bolts sticking out, thru the bumper mounting holes in the wheel wells and screw on washers and nuts. Use long bolts as they will hold the bumper on the car as you tighten the nuts down.

It is easier to put a nut on the bolt, than trying to line up the bolt with the hole in the bracket with your head stuck in with the tire.

The hard part is finding the dzus fasteners.....on one track car we used wing nuts and safety wire ties.....wasn't the prettiest but cheap and it worked.

Most "speed shops" have them. Drag racers use them so try the V8-go fast-in-a-stright-line crowd.

Pegasus has every type of fastener you'd ever need for a race car; the challenge with the 914 is there are not many good attachment points on the stock sheet metal, so I guess you have to add various tabs/brackets. Shouldn't be a biggie now that I have a pic in my mind of what to try.
