I sent an email to Porsche asking them to make the 914 again. Here is what I got back:

Oh yes! A mid engined sports car in the MX5 / Lotus Elise price range... That will blow the competion right out of the water. Or... some of the 918's high tech trickling down to a 'modest' 914.
Let's consider the eGolf or eTron... or better: VW starts selling the ultra rare XL1 in Holland soon. Consider this technology in Porsche clothing and the world would look better! Menno |

Porsche killed off the 914, let it rest in peace. Let’s just enjoy our cars for what they are worth. Any modern 914 is only going to be in name only anyways, a mid-engine Targa with ghastly molded front and rear ends. And considering VW’s quality reputation, do you really want to buy a styling exercise from VW of Mexico’s parts bin? Because that is the only way they’re going to keep the sticker price down…

What ever happened to the VW Bluesport roadster shown a few years ago?
https://www.google.com/search?q=vw+bluespor...mp;ved=0CDAQsAQ Oops, I guess this answers that question. And the Bluesport was more than a few years ago, more like six! http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1046761...like-sports-car |
