Okay guys. The local hotel Kennett Square Inn is $79 for one night. If 3 or or more get a room the rate is $69.

The fancy hotel for the town "Garden Hilton" is $145 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) But is much much nicer, as it should be fo rthat kind of $$.

Drop me an e-mail and I'll get the head count.

Expenses, hummmm

You'll need some fuel to drive to and from 19348 in PA. Other then that the rest is up to you. Some guys are making a long trip and don't want to drive back on Sat so they are staying the night in a hotel. Most guys are within 4hrs and will drive up and back in the same day.

I will send another e-mail out in more detail but the food (basics) and soda will be provided. The entertainment (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) will be provided by the attendees (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Come out and spend a nice Sat with some fellow 914 owners. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif)

Just attempting to be social again. I am still in for a tranny clinic. Maybe I can do an inspection on Scott B's tranny while I'm at it?

Slight hijack to address the caravan from NoVa again.

I'm guessing Kerry's thing starts late AM or noon?

If so, we could have a brief 914 breakfast in Tyson's Corner at ~0730 or 0800 and get the NoVa caravan rolling from there. Case Mitchell will be coming up from Charlottesville in (he has high hopes) his newly painted car and he could probably use a few minutes break (2 hours from there to TC). We can meet up with Jim, Nathan, Justin, Rod, and anyone else from the local NoVa contingent that might be interested in the caravan.

Thoughts?

Lets see if you had a 4hrs drive (4 hrs seems to be the farthest people are driving) and left around 7:00am'ish you will be there around 11:00. So lets start around 11:00'ish.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) Take some photo's on the way up guys (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) It would be sweet to pick up guys along the way from MD and PA. I might just drive down to MD just so I can take-part (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

my mapquest indicated about 130 miles from NOVA taking about 2.5 hours so breakfast (earlyish?) and 11am sounds like a plan. i think nathan is working on his car preparing to go. i contacted norustscott to see if he is planning on going but the poor guy might be torn between which car to drive; either his 914 or his new WRX twin turbo powered vanagon! root and jimkelly seemed to be working on their cars to go. justin9146 just had a new baby and i haven't seen anything from him. tony is a no-go (tony lives near me and has a very nice -6). caroline and zymrgist and babydoll are hoping to attend if they get finished, if not, maybe driving in a benz (hey, it's german!). check back here often and send some tech quiz questions to me!

Jim,

I think 2.5 hours is very optimistic from NoVa. I always figure on 3 hours to Philly from where I live (3 miles from the Mason-Dixon line). We haven't decided on a route to take, or even which car to drive. Caroline suggested that if I can't get Babydoll stable by then, that we should take my 911, which is also still in pieces. I'm leaning toward the Mercedes because it's reliable and a good highway cruiser.

I'm making this coming weekend a 4 day weekend... current plan is to get the 911 back together so I can put Babydoll in the garage, rear end first... I figure I might be able to put the engine/tranny in by myself, since I spent so much time under the 911 doing similar work. All I need is that little washer with 6 holes that goes under the flywheel bolts, parts-wise.

From Richmond to my house in PA it is just about 4hrs +/- a few. I made this trip wany too many time when moving up here. That 4hrs is with the wife and kid in the car ( = sub 75mph) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Philly is a good / fast 40mins north on I95. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)

well, i plan on driving the 1.8L so the trip will also be sub-75mph (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

i had a thought about another "thing" at the event. how about a swap meet or at least, bring a piece of paper with a list of stuff you want to get rid of.

Kerry,

I wanted to make it but I'll be at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA for the NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals on Friday and Saturday. There's nothing like Top Fuel and Funny Car qualifying at night. As you guys are sucking down some suds, I'll be sucking in Nitromethane fumes and clutch dust.

Enjoy!

Hey Guys,
I'm back, was on vacation the last week, just getting up to speed on stuff. Are the other NoVA guys planning on sleeping over, I'd rather just head on the road and come back that night personally. Let me know your plans.
As much of a non-morning person I am, I'm still game for meeting in Tysons and taking it from there. Keep me posted, I'm flexible. Unfortunately Amy has to work that day, so I'll be either solo or with another family member. Talk with you all soon. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
