I might go pick up my Elise at another state (NJ) and drive it home. I'm still working on the deal.

Halfway is around NC or VA.

I'm looking for a recommended (safe) place to stay off I-95 around this area. Preferably even a nicer hotel with valet parking, as the Elise tends to draw a lot of attention...

Probably Wednesday night next week (or Thursday).

well i live about 1/2 mile from 95 in baltimore md. and there are some very nice hotels downtown, including ones with valet parking. nice thing about baltimore city down town is you have 20 nice places to eat, with in a 5 min or so walk from the hotel. and we have about 4 or 5 914 owners who i could probably scrape up for dinner.

one place the works well for 914 owners is HOOTERS

I am (shop) 5 miles off I-95, Pooler/Airport exit, so you should at least roll by, and honk.

I'm happy for you. The Elise is soooo sweet. A buddy and I were talking about our favorite cars at the International Auto Show... "if you could only take one car out of here..." For me it was the Porsche GT or the Lotus Elise, depending on who's buying. Hmmm, only around $400,000 difference in price. Congrats.

It's official. I am getting the New Jersey Elise....

AND.... drum roll... I am going to verify the existence of redshift on the way back. I have multiple ways to document the visit.... digital camera, camera phone, night vision goggles, infrared cameras.

Should I bring some tinfoil for my head?

I plan on being in Jersay Wednesday night. WIll pick up the car on Thursday and start heading home...

I think you should bring tinfoil, so redshift.exe doesn't auto-install into your mind and infect other people through broadcasting itself via IP through ESP

Looks like Fayetteville, NC is about 1/2 way home... I picked it off the map. Total distance frpom NJ to Orlando is 1075 miles. Fayetteville is 535 miles from my house.

Anybody got a hotel recommendation in Fayetteville?

Of course... I "could" drive straight through, but that would probably kill me.

I know of a B&B out in Floyd VA, which is on the VA, NC Border - out on the blue ridge parkway (that'd be a fun ride). however it is the eastern part of the state. I know the owners.

Qarl,

I am in Charleston, SC. My "new" 914/6 3.2 with flares should get delivered on Friday of next week. You are welcome to come by here and put the Elise in my garage for the night.

Or, if you run into any problems in my area give me a call and I will try to help.

All I will charge is a ride in the Elise!

Charleston is a little off I-95 (bout an hour), but it is a safe place for the car.

Ken

Email me at ken@engexperts.com or call at work next week 843-856-4644.
