and here's a close-up of the fabric:

any ideas out there? what sources for oem fabric are available? i have already tried aa... they do not have the orange.

I searched for about an hour after seeing that same seat. I came up blank.

I swear I'd install that on my GT seats if I could find it.

Not to be a smart ass but have you tried local upholstry shops? It may possibly have been something for couches or even clothing and Porsche decided to be "hip" and use it..

i've tried every avenue i could think of. i eventually did find a place online, smsautofabrics.com, that had something that's very close, but ultimately not the same. if i can't find the oem stuff, i'll use what they sent, it's very good quality and i think looks better than the original. but at $75/yard... If anyone wants to send me a piece of fabric or material anytime, I would be happy to look into it. I just found a place that carries the small box weave today for a reasonable price. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) I am stoaked. I know I have a friend sending me the orange plaid so I can match. I'll see if I can find a similar yellow, but it would be best if I had a sample.

Oh by the way, I do upholstery (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Is there anyone on the board that does upholstery? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

Keep this thread alive if you find the plaid. Evil one... how much fabric would one have to order to do the seat faces?

i was told once that it was about 2 yards, but i'm not certain if that's correct from an upholsterers point of view.

here's what sms auto fabrics sent. it's not too bad... for plaid.

double a and Dr. Evil,

Did you guys find the plaid fabric in yellow anywhere? AA says they think they can get it, but it's going to be pricey.

I've got 2 seats to redo in the original stock fabric....

I would still need a sample to be sure, but I will still go check as soon as I get a moment.
