I slapped together an engine from leftover crap on teh garage floor to drop into my Dino kit car. a 1776, single progressive Webber and an 009 dizzy. ran OK, but then it started to miss under load after a few days of driving. at idle it was OK an static (curbside) reving it rev'd OK. it only missed under load. if I would push the clutch in and rev it a bit it would cure itself for a while. This got progressively worse over a 4 day period. Today it got to where the car did not want to stay running. Well, teh dizzy shaft is loser than any I have ever seen so I opened up teh points as wide as I could get them and limped off teh I-15 ramp to a friends house a mile away to park it till morning.
can a wobbled out dizzy be re-built? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) by me? can I buy the bushings? does anyone here have a source? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif) should I throw it in teh trash? |
