There's some kind of vintage sports car racing on Speed Channel right now and there are a few beautiful teeners screaming around a track (in Europe I think) holding their own with some serious racing machines. Check it out.

Arggh...Tivo failed me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
The "problem" with Speed Channel vs. Tivo is that they call just about EVERYTHING "Auto Racing". If I told Tivo to grab all "Auto Racing" I would have about 200 hours a week of NASCAR/WINSTON crap, or endless WRC rally segments, LOL. Hopefully I can catch the re-airing... |

I was watching it while pulling a CPU. Fortunately, I had the living room tube tuned to Speed, so I went in and hit the record button. I'll watch it tonight. Thanks for the heads up gang. It did look like a cool program, but I was too busy to catch it at the time. Now I know what to look for when I watch it.

It was ok...had about 15 seconds of 914 footage. But regardless it was a cool show...not worth waiting up till the midnight show... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

That was the Tour de France de Automobile, a series of speed limit rallies, full bore rallies and on track racing. It'll be on again. There were 2 914s of note, the silver and the orange. Some nice 911s as well as the Ferraris, Alfas, etc.

I guess there are still a few 914s left in Europe. I think I saw a third (yellow) one in the event.

Thanks for posting that, Jeff. I'm sorry I missed it... but maybe they'll replay this weekend.
We should all email Speed Channel and their advertisers tell them how much we LIKED them doing that show. Positive reinforcement works. -Rusty |
