O.K., My 44 IDF's are too much for the 2056 engine I built. So now I am re-building some 40 IDF to replace the 44's. I expected to find the starter valve, the guide and the spring(also, wasn't there a ball bearing in there too?). I had no place to install a choke cable or pre-start assembly. Is that stuff always in there or can I just continue with the re-build?

Many new Webers made in Spain are not machined for the choke setup. Don't worry about it, and carry on.

If your 44s workedmwell have you thought of putting in smaller vents, i dropped mine from 36mm to 32mm on my 2056.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) 32s on my 44s were very nice. 28s made the low end very strong.

Have you measured AFR? Idle jets? Mains? AC's?

Carb tuning has to be done with some data and likely a few different jetting options.

EMPI's or Webers?
