Its interesting that no one has ever built a tribute replica to this car...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
Which is interesting because these were tribute cars when they were built. |

Well.......flat eight Porsche engines ARE hard to come by.... the other eight cyl. engines, 1. have been done. 2. are water cooled. 3. have a kink in the middle. Not too sure about the 'tribute' aspect of the original two cars. |

I had plans to do a copy of the silver 914-8, steel hardtop with a suby engine instead of the 8. Just to get the look of the car. But the shell I just purchased came with steel flares already installed so I have to go another direction. Maybe a "Huey" tribute car. Attached image(s) |

Are my eyes just getting buggy or what's up with those front wheelwells on the orange car? They're looking kinda round to me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) No, your eyes are fine. The two 908-motored cars were made out of pre-production prototypes. (Similar to the infamous Number Four.) None of the panels are exactly the same as the production cars, all are slightly different. And that was before they modified the car to take the flat-eight engine. Its interesting that no one has ever built a tribute replica to this car...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) The rumor mill says that there was one other 908-motored car built a couple or a few decades ago. I haven't heard of it in a long while though. And since none of the body panels are stock, it would be tough to do a complete replica. --DD |

Before and after the garage extension & sale of KVW last year (looks like she's now for sale again on the UK eBay site with a steeler. So if any UK members want the real lowdown rather than the eBay blurb PM me)
The 911 is currently away so my donor car for the yellow -6 are having an extended sleep over with my brothers Cobra for the summer |

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that the 914 of today sits among a much different crowd to "sleep with" than it did a few years ago?
Yes, the 914 has finally matured :-) |

Compare the results of this thread with the results of even 4-5 years ago :-) Thats why I had to add one back to the collection :-) |

Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Baby Bear. I dragged home this '68 Honda "Scrambler" CL90 a couple of days ago. Its complete, with 7400 miles. But that doesn't mean much. You might see I opened the valve covers, pulled the sparking plug, drained the oil/water mix, tried to get the generator and clutch covers off, etc. The engine is toast, gearbox is locked up, chain is rusted, cables will have to be replaced...But hey!, this will be easy compared to most 914 projects. I better get the orange conversion DONE first. |

My brother flew Navy C130s during the Viet Nam era and brought back many Honda 90s including one or two 90 Scramblers........ I must have put a thousand miles on them and never left our street.

Actually the engine ran, but I had it out to work on a transmission problem and it was stolen out of my storage unit, along with my AC/DC welder a couple of years ago. Not sure which item I was most upset about. BUT, they did not find the seat which I think is in better condition than yours and if you send or pm me your address I will box it up and ship it to you. Hope all else goes well with it. Steve |

^^^ Weird - the board seems to have inverted the pic Au contraire, you took the picture upside down but your phone is smart enough to turn it around for you. I looked into auto-rotating images for the board software, but it isn't actually all that simple to correctly detect rotated images. The easiest way to avoid this is to remember which side is UP on your phone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
