So driving home from work today, was having a Senior moment as I came back from Boston and Maryland last week for 2 college graduations in the last week.

Exhausted.

My youngest daughter graduates this week from high school and goes off to college this coming Fall at Cal Poly University in Pomona...California for those who don't know where that is.

Just as I reached the peak of what seemed like a culmination of all the thoughts/emotions all the sacrifices, money, time, effort, love...about all the kids, there goes the bright blue 914 scooting along which brought me out of this daze (and self pity) that I was feeling.

It was Ethan's car! I have only met him a couple of times but it cheered me up.

So here is to you Ethan...Caly Poly grad...or soon to be....engineer AND 914 owner.

And here is to all graduates this year, you are our future.

Go Broncos!

Hey Rob, my middle daughter is graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in a couple weeks. Maybe I'll see Ethan's car too while in Pomona for the graduation ceremony.

I don't know if it is his (Ethans) last year or not... but congratulations to your daughter...and you!

It is my daughters first year, she worked hard to get there, she is my youngest.

I think at the time when I saw his car, how fast it seems to have happened...meaning raising my kids into adulthood.

Pre-empty nester syndrome I suppose.

Happy and sad.

Rob,
No kidding!? I've been sick as a dog all flippin' week and needed to get away from the house so I went for a drive up GMR. Talk about an awesome coincidence.

Congrats on your daughter getting accepted to CPP. It really is a great school and from a parent's financial perspectives, it's probably one of the best-bang for the buck educations in the whole state.

I'm still at CPP for another year (5 year plan for aerospace) so if your daughter needs help with anything during her first year, I am more than happy to lend a hand, especially if she has any questions about things. Everything certainly seemed daunting to me my freshman year, and I felt a little lost being away from home.

Thanks Ethan...very kind of you. I will pass that along.

There are no coincidences btw...I go do that drive when I need to get away as well.

Good luck in your next year. I agree it's a great school.
