944 cvs are fatter. I dont remember by how much. I bought longer bolt for both ends. I had to trim them flush as well on the wheel end since they stuck out and hit the trailing arm.

Are you doing the 944 CV conversion? If so, the 48MM bolts are a little short (as mentioned in the how to guide by another member).

I ordered a set of 50MM bolts from McMaster Carr

91290A448 PN

Block Oxide class 12.9 socket head cap screw, alloy steel M8 thread , 50MM length, 1.25MM Pitch, pack of 25

Stock 944 is 48mm I believe.

Here's a couple of pics.

951 stub axle, 84 944 cv's with moon clips and stock 48mm cv bolts, and new 50mm bolts

Other is an early 915 thick spline trans flange, 84 944 cv's with moon clips and stock 48mm and 50mm bolts.

Obviously the 50mm bolts protrude out a bit further.

The poster in the how to guide stated he used 55mm bolts, but had to trim the ends for clearance, so I went with 50's

And, no Schnorr washers. 944 doesn't use them, but I did order some for the m8 bolts through McMaster, I would think I need another 1 or 2mm of bolt length to use them
