Well,...Lets see....... she knows how to eat for free - three times a day. she knows how to live at the beach for free (worlds biggest self cleaning cat box) and she sleeps on down comforters any time of day or night without having to pay room or board...... They know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Byt the way mark: these lugbolts fit your steel wheels nicely / for you,.. a special price... 10.00 handed off at the G&R (if it is going to happen...) and I will throw them in your tranny linkage boot and gasket as special period packaging.

oh (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ... there's a caveat? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I spoke with Bruce before the w/e and it sounds like it's gonna happen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Distance, Rate, and Time Problem
A 914 is 60 miles from Bruce. The 914 at A starts for Bruce's at the rate of 20 miles
an hour at the same time that a 914 at Bruce's starts for the location of the first 914 at the rate of 25 miles an hour.

How long will it be before the two 914's meet? Or better yet, ....how long before the swap meet meets at Bruce's? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

2.5 ~ 3 hours isn't acceptable. If neither 914 (1) can't do better than 20 ~ 25 mph, I'd suggest the following before beginning a trek of this nature:

1. Valve adjustment set to spec (2)
2. Set dwell angle to +/- 49° (2) (better yet, install a Pertronix (3) (or = unit)
3. Ignition timing set to spec (typically 27° BTDC @ 3k RPM) (2)
4. Fresh fuel (rated for your particular application)
5. Induction system checked and adjusted for optimum efficiency (2)
6. Tires inflated properly (don't forget to torque lug bolts or nuts as needed) (2)

Performing these procedures should decrease the time element between point A and B considerably - however, YMMV (4)

(1) 914 is a trademarked numbering sequence pertaining to a product of PORSCHE gHmB, subsidiary of Volkswagen gHmB, Germany

(2) Specific information should be obtained from a reputable source.

(3) Pertronix is a trademarked entity and only used in this case as a possible alternative ignition component for automotive use (as noted).

(4) Absolutely NO guarantees (written or verbal) are implied, and the author will not be held liable for any failure(s) due to misconstrued interpretation(s) or improper action(s) of any procedure(s) listed, or failure of any component(s) mentioned.
