Gents,
I think I need a ride in a Subaru swapped conversion to help push me over the motivational hump. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/s9.postimg.org-11125-1433372064.1.jpg) I am thinking an EZ30R or an EJ turbo series motor. ( don't have the skills or motivation to do out of the box like Mike or what Andrew is starting) I came from the Subaru world before 914's, so it's a warm & fuzzy. Any bay area folks have a running swap I could take a ride in sometime this summer? Thanks! Matt I added a pole for your opinion ( cuz they are fun ) |

Well I got to ride in a beautiful one a few weeks back, but with a 901 trans.
It was one of the first 2.5L WRX engine swaps done by renegade. Power was all over the place, but to be honest the 901 ( which was one of the best shifting ones I have ever driven), was still clunky. I also feel that the stock ratios do not take advantage of the WRX torque curve. Still excited to get a ride in a full Subaru & trans swap. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

They pull like crazy and the shifting is what we've come to expect from driving a Subaru- tight and precise, definitely worth the cash and time for a sweet setup. I'm cheating- putting the automatic in my conversion... then a manual after I get one set up the way I want. |
