I wanted to check out my spark plug after a short drive since car does not have a lot of power above 3rd gear.
The front passenger side plug was clean and dry.

The plug towards the trunk(hard to get at plug was covered in unburnt fuel soaked.
Any suggestions would really help.
Thanks.

Check - Plug wires, rotor, cap.

Sounds like that cyl is not getting spark, but the other one is.

For sure its not getting a spark.

I bought a new Flame Thrower coil.
I also bought Magnecor plug wires and electronic ignition as well.

But I need to know what type of plug I should order with this setup???????????.

I also dont have a clue as to what is causing the fouled plug,it is gas not oil???????
Thanks Grant.

Gas on plug = no spark = no/inadequate power to the plug

Check all 4 cyls' plugs ....If the other cyls are getting spark (not fuel fouled), then it's probably a bad connection or your new E-ignition.

Check connections & continuity between the fuel fouled plug(s) (swap plugs with working one to check if bad plug), connectors & wires (swap your old wire/conns to that plug to check wire/connector if it still works), & electr. ignition - if not the wires, rotor or rotor cap, then its probably bad in the new electronic ignition.

Not sure if you mean pointless ign., but even those can come out of the factory bad, so narrow down to that, then take it back if that's it.

I don't think it's the coil, since you're getting spark at others, but check all 4 cyls plugs.

Process of elimination! ...whatever is left is what's bad.

PS - AFAIK the plug type would be the same options as with any ignition set-up for your motor, with some plug mfgrs having fewer defective ones, but someone else can answer if a specific plug seems to work better with your E-ignition set-up, but you'll have to tell them which one you got, since I'm familiar with the stock set-up (I prefer Bosch's reccos for the 914 2.0L). IMHO if the other plug(s) are working, then it's not a plug/system mismatch.

Good Luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
