How are you all doing?  Here in Plattsburgh, New York it is 15F degrees
and bright sunshine.  We are bracing for the next Nor easter which is
expected to hit our area Monday night.  Oh joy! :-(

The 2005 East Coast Ramble (ECR) is starting to take shape.  Today, I
spoke with Peter, the owner of The Palmer House in Manchester Vermont and we made some fixed and some tentative
plans for the ECR.  Here is what we have as of today:

DATES:                SEPTEMBER 16-18, 2005

ROOMS:               I reserved 20 rooms for us and the prices are
$90-$120 for a regular room (see web site) and $190 for the larger
suites (see web site)
(Note:  the rooms are being held under
2005 ECR - and will be released for the general public on August 1, 2005.)

ACTIVITIES:      Most of the activities are int he planning stages, but
here is a short overview of what you can expect:

 1.  Friday night BBQ under the tent near
the outdoor pool.  Beer/wine/etc to be worked out.
Dancing/Drinking (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) /Yakking under the stars until ?

2.  Saturday - breakfast at the resort,
possible wash and shine (the resort has a free car wash area - just
bring your car)

3.  Saturday - scenic drive with plenty
of curves - (the road that is) and poker run

4.  Saturday - shopping at the OUTLET
centers.  See web site:  Manchester Outlet Stores
5.  Saturday - golfing/fishing/indoor
pool/outdoor pool
 6.  Saturday - Dinner banquet with guest
speaker.  (The editor of Auto Afficiando lives in Manchester and is a
possibility, also, Hurley Haywood,
Jim Newton or David Murray are possibilities)
 7.  Saturday - Dancing/Drinking (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) /Yakking
under the stars until ?
 8.  Sunday - drive up to top of Mt.
Equinox  Mt Equinox Website
 9.  Sunday - lunch and departure

I realize that this announcement is early and that some of you will not
reserve or commit to attend the ECR until the last minute.   I would
appreciate your early reservations and notice to me so that proper
planning can be made.  If anyone has any questions, I invite you to
contact me (Ralf Hartmann) anytime.

PHONE:      518-569-7642  or email mailto:rhartmann@charter.net

Best regards to all and Peggy and look forward to seeing you all in
September. :-)

Ralf Hartmann

i note with discouragement that this is the same weekend as Kerry Herr's Kennett Square CookOut... i hope that *somebody* will blink on this one and reschedule. i'm hoping it's Ralf, but we will see... this is one of the disadvantages of having 6 good weather weekends a year in this part of the world ...

(i might even have the 911 running again by then...)
