So been on a search for a clean 2.0. Not officially for sale I was told about a 1975 30 ish K mile California. car that has sat protected in a barn back east for about 10 yrs but driven couple times a year and owned by a retired Pcar mechanic.

Pretty much original he has been the mechanic from original owner since late 70s, so very well documented. Seems like it's getting tougher to find a unmolested no stories 914 like this. An extra cool factor is it's Berber yellow and from my research 1975 is the only year for that color. How do I find out how many in that color were made ?

What's a car like that worth ? I think we are at a deal but just curious if I am on track with what I offered.

Thanks.

Not enough info. Post photos? Value is based on condition..."original" could be a good or bad thing as it effects condition.

Berber Yellow is a rare color, no way to determine how many were made.

Back east? Protected in a barn? I'm surprised no one has mentioned RUST. The only way to get a true picture of the condition/value of the car is to look for RUST. Look under the battery tray for RUST. Pull off the rocker panels and look under them. Pull up the caret and look for RUST on the floor trays and especially under the pedals. Look for RUST Underneath the back pad on the fire wall. Pull up any covering on the rear trunk floor and look for??? Yep! RUST. This car looks great but...
Cheers, Elliot

PS They're ALL California cars. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

I know, the car is owned by the partner of the porsche shop that takes care of my SC and he has done the PPI for me. very cool with condition of car, was really looking for 73-74 2.0 but tough to find clean/original and this one came along. I know big bumpers but one year color and lower production numbers then early cars but good for Cali. on smog. Thought maybe $ price a bit on high side but considering all angles I think the deal I made is fair for long term. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) . car will be here end of August. would be cool to know how many production numbers for Berber yellow. I'll keep posted once cars is here.
