I am a 16 year old, running low on funds, as my 71 has been worked on for the last 6 months, and is almost complete. I came across the volkswagen turn signal, and noticed it was identical, and costs much less. Any thoughts as to whether or not it is compatible? Thanks a lot!

How cool to have a 914 and be 16! I was 18 when I bought my first one, brand new in 1973. I have no idea whether the VW part will fit, I have a gut feeling it might. But others who really know will surely chime in. Welcome to the World.

These two part Numbers should fit the 1971:

311.953.513B
111.953.513C

I have a downloadable, interchangeable VW:914 parts list here:

I'll check if I still have one tomorrow. If I do you can have it for the shipping price.
