Hey guys- hoping this will be a quick one. Should the triangle window seal have a groove cut in it to fit the top of the metal bracket at the base? Or does the seal somehow go around the portion of the bracket that sticks up?

I know it's not the best description- I struggled to describe it to Cesar over the phone also. I mean this seal...

and basically where the pic is showing.
