I've seen this before, as far as I've read it was someone that made the ad, not VW. Still funny.

I know the one you're talking about. (didn't attempt link).

This was on the news a few weeks back. Made by non-VW
people as humor. Some people took offense.

I doubt you'll EVER see this sort of thing on commercial TV in the US. They're profit driven, and profit comes from advertising, and advertisers don't do things like that. Much of the "off the wall" stuff is not only NOT produced by and for the advertisers, they actively go after the makers for trademark infringement. The station running an ad spoof like that would be out of business faster than you can say lawyer. The Cap'n

Shame on the guy for the apology...I think every one needs to lighten up if they can't see the humor in there....and if its still a problem (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif)

ninefourteener...
click on the link. When the 404 comes up, click on the www.boreme.com link.
that will take you to the home page.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and in the center, click on the link that says "fake VW ad"
And walla!

The first thing I thought of is that that the terrorist car bombers should use those cars. That would be hillarious. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

clearly, they expect this disclaimer to work, at least for a while:

"MyVWLemon.com is not affiliated or sponsored by Volkswagen AG (Just in case there is any confusion on identity). MyVWLemon.com recognizes and respects all of Volkswagen's trademarks and copyrights (Including the swastika). MyVWlemon.com makes or has no intent to violate Volkswagen trademarks and copyrights (Because I can't). MyVWlemon.com is a parody website, and its opinions are based on personal experiences of the owner of this website and other active members (Everything is the truth). MyVWLemon.com has no intent to discourage any consumer from purchasing Volkswagen products ("Suckers wanted"). Consumers should exercise their own judgment on products based on their own research (Read this article from Time Magazine). MyVWLemon.com only intent is to exercise the right to freedom of speech, based on the right to review and comment on personal purchases and experiences (Disappointed!)."

IMO that video is sick and the maketing people at volkswagen need to be taken out to the woodshed. I particularly find it in very poor taste when the show the baby carriage next to where the car pulls up.

I am no PC guy either. I think that this ad was stupid and shows a lack of creativity at VW.

EDIT: So I have just read that its a fake ad. Well, for one I am glad its a fake. For two, who ever did that ad needs to be taken out behind the..... you get my point.
