Well, I just downloaded Need For Speed 5: Porsche Unleashed today figuring if I can't drive my baby out on the road then I might as well pretend. I just started a few races with a 356 and good god I love this game. Much better on the PC than Playstation (rented it, was okay and before the teener). Since I cannot purchase a 914 yet in the Evolution mode, I did a quick race on single player just so I could drive it and get some pics. Hopefully they'll have a 914/6 or GT or maybe even a 916. Don't know yet (if you all know don't tell me). It's a blast to play and they're a shit load of parts to put on the car.
If anyone would like it I can send it to you over a File Transfer over AIM or Windows/MSN Messenger. It's 195 MB and you don't need a CD to Play!! Here's 2 pictures of our favorite cars interior and exterior Attached image(s) |

QUOTE I have the full blown version... let me know when you want to play... (and I will spank all of you) OH MAN YOUR KILLING ME!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolling.gif) Now its on.. Do any of you remember the whatchamacall it challange? probably not, it was a 944 thing. Anyways, the person in charge would pick a track, and a car. Then all the people would race, then say their times and screenshot it for proof. It was a big contest for fun. Anyone interested? Lets do an unofficial one.. Race Cote de azure in a modified 914 2.0, No twin turbo's or whatchamajigers. Post your time.. |

I'm down for that but I need to finish more of the game first so I can buy 914's a upgrade them to different specs, or do you want to do a stock race. Also, no Photoshopping either, it's not hard to change times, so we're gonna have to do it on the honor system.
So when after I upload it on Andy's FTP so others can get it, We'll set a time to do a race an have people post the pictures. Some one pick the track and we'll all use Stock cars (yet again, honor system). I like the idea, maybe if there are enough people there can be some prize like a 914world.com sticker or nothing or a standings points chart for all the courses. You can set up a driver on this so you can cheat and have all cars and all tracks at the beginning (probably what I'll do) Also, there are 3 cars (i think) that don't come w/ the game, 00 GT3, 959, 928 GTS you can DL them somewhere on the web or I'll just upload it Andy's FTP. Good idea Andyrew (WHERE THE HELL IS THE THUMBS UP SMILEY!!!!!) |

Can't we race each other? I seem to recall racing with other folks online a couple years ago.

From what i've heard they testd a Beata version for the PC and there was supposed to be a database to play on. I do not know if you can still play online, LAN games would be more feasible but then you might run into problems with hosting (if you don't have enough bandwidth), So it's easier just doing Time trials to see who is faster.
I'll look it up and see whats going on. |

No, it's still the same one but I think you can only play LAN games for multiplayer. There are new cars however being made so you can add-on mroe cars.

Will Do, I'll post a confirmation once its on Andy's FTP
I think it would be better to have the time trials with a picture to verify because then people don't have to worry about trying to get on and things messing up (like mine). It would be good on everyones own time but I think for this purpose the guys or gals can do it whenever they want and just post it before the deadline |

I'll beat it tonight when I get home (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif) With slower cars its more about what line you take and cutting corners, do you have a steering wheel, joystick or do you use the keyboard
Also, I haven't done it yet but can you change the rims of the car cause the 914 Mooncaps suck, haven't seen the other models. I wanna see if I can make the LE versions of the car and put them in there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |

Amazingly I use the keyboard.. and no you cant change the rims without hacking into the car... almost any other car, with the exception of race cars and the 356's you can change the rims.. oh well you dont see it when your (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif),

Go out and get a wheel/pedal setup!! You can get them for like $25. Enjoyment and playability are 10X better. Keyboard and joysticks are a waste of time for good driving games.

They need to make a game and steering wheel/pedal set that you actually have to engage the clutch and shift gears (like an actual gearbox mounted on the side of steering wheel)) for PC. I know they had it for F355 Challenge in the arcade and that was hella hard, wasn't enjoyable. It would be cool to have the gearbox thing

I actually have one, but my steering wheel is terrible.. I just use the gas pedals, when I want to.. I should go out and buy one, but then it will be harder for you guys to keep up with me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
