I got an email today from them that they are suspending my account for unpaid sellers fees (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) I pay them each time I get the bill from them. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) I look at my balance with them and I owe $0.01 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) I sent them an email asking how the hell I can owe $0.01 when I use PayPal to pay the bill they send (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) Once all this is worked out Im done with the evil bay and their crap PayPal. I here ya. I just sold a couple a hundrend dollars of stuff the other day and between the listing and insertion fees, final auction price fee, and the paypal fee when I got paid they get a pretty good chunck.

But where esle can you reach that big of a market so easily.

Stuff would have sat here with me trying to figure out how to sell it if it wasn't for the evilbay.

I've sold about 150 things or so on e-bay. Only one problem. It was the seller's fault, not e-bay's.

I probably sold LEDs to over 100 people via Paypal and over 200 sets of fog light seals via Paypal... no problems.

Of course, I am dealing with mostly 914club and Pelicanites, vs. some of the idiots out there in e-bay land.

I don't sell that mcuh any more, but I never had a probem with E-bay or Paypal.

If I were you I'd verify that the e-mail is valid and not a scam. I received an e-mail in the past from 'eBay' saying that my account has been suspended with a link to the login page.

I knew my account was still good, logged in anyway like an idiot, then changed my password immediately. Caught on that it was false.

It could be a scam to get your user id and password. Just a thought.

I have got that same email before. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) .........a few times!

When I get that email, I DO NOT click on any links. I open a new window and go directly to the ebay or pay pal site and login from there. There has never been any change to my account that was stated in the email.

I then forward the email to spoof@ebay.com, or spoof@paypal.com to report it as spam. They have always answered my forward as a "the email you recieved was not sent by ebay(paypal)........

Try that. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/type.gif)

I actually received a message from ebay once stating that if you receive an email like that to report it because it isn't them. But then, I don't use ebay or paypal much, so I really don't have any experience.

suggest you forward the notice to spoof@ebay.com (or spoof@paypal.com)
some of the things look authentic but are BS. if you did click on any links, you may have compromised your security, so notify them accordingly to change info.

If you're using Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox, a way to make sure those links don't work is to:

1) Open a new tab
2) In the address bar type in "about:config" (no quotes)
3) Find the setting "network.enableIDN"
4) Change it to say False

This will disable IDN spoofing through many of those e-mails. If you have internet exploiter, 50-50 chance it will or wont work with the IDN spoof.

I agree but that is what EBAY sent me. I did check and it is an actual Ebay email. I sent them the PayPal Info and they sent me another email that I do not owe them anything. Nothing about sorry we goofed up (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) I am going to look into overstock.com folks are using it more and more lower fees and less trouble.

I got a phone call, said my cellular service was about to be suspended for non-payment.

I asked why they didn't call my cell, no reason... oh.. maybe it's BECAUSE I CANCELED SERVICE 3 YEARS AGO FOOL. Talks about 10 seconds more, I realized it's a scam.. trying to get a money order overnighted to prolly Nigeria.

The phone rings at the shop, I am asked to take the call.. it's a third-party service. The operator translates from keyboard input on the other end.. it has rules like freaking tele-type... STOP.. GO AHEAD..

So, the typist asks about a guitar we have STOP GO AHEAD

Yes we have one in stock STOP GO AHEAD

How much is it? STOP GO AHEAD

It's two-thousand dollars STOP GO AHEAD

Do you take Master Card? STOP GO AHEAD

Yes STOP GO AHEAD

How long to ship to Nigeria STOP GO AHEAD

Uhh.. Not in your fucking lifetime STOP GO AHEAD

-click-

Sorry sir, they seem to have terminated the call..

I said, Have a great day! STOP GO AHEAD

BTDT...

My company sells cellular phone accessories. We get these calls all time. Learned a long time ago that most of them are scams. If you are deaf, how do you use a Bluetooth headset and why do you not care what type of phones it works with and why do you want 8 of them overnighted to you?!?!

Needless to say, we refuse to accept any of these calls anymore. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
