So...Here's my new Karmann (ghia).
Pretty decent car for a 57'. A little rust right in the drivers floor. And missing a taillight and the front blinkers. Otherwise complete and running with on the original engine. The 2nd best part is the price: 1) Fix carberetor and front trans mount on 62' beetle street rod. 2) fix Burned valve on 56' Porsche Sunroof coupe. Labor only, he buys the parts- and I get the title to the Ghia!! Attached image(s) |

Wow, serious time capsule there. Kinda reminds me of the 59 chevy I used to have. Interiors were different back then.

Congrats on the buy, both the Karmann Ghia and 356 have been on my list of future cars, they both seem like they both would be a joy to own. Theres a billion things you can do to either of the cars. Anyways if you ever get sick of either project I may be willing to take one of em off your hands. Good luck with the car

I want a Ghia with a 2.4 or 2.7 six in it.
That 57 is a hella-nice find though. Looks like it's cherry for how old it is. |

Yup, Ghia's and 356's are waaaaay cool. But of all my cars the 914 is the most fun for "seat of the pants" driving!
Congrats (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) like most cars, the early ones are the coolest. |

Great score! I have a lot of early Ghia parts. Let me know if you can't find them on Samba. Let me know if you want to trade for a flared 914 with Fuchs alloys!

Congrats on your Ghia find, I found mine 4 yrs ago in a barn (1970 rust free, no collisions!), rebuilt it and blew the minds of many of the modern tuners. Here is what can be done! Now i turn my attention to my 4 yr 914 project(a 72). (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/w00t.gif)
