If I buy anything valuable I call my insurance agent and he puts a policy in place immediately and emails me confirmation. I can get it done with the vin and some basic info. Just one of the reasons I use a local broker.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I've had the same local insurance broker for about 15 years. They know me by name. All it takes is a phone call and a VIN, mileage, and a verbally agreed upon value to get coverage.
