We all know 914's are not drag racers.
Still true (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) They were only running 1/8 mile drags tonight, so I can't report the full spectrum of results. My best run was a 10.577 sec @ 68.02mph Best 0-60' was 2.632 sec Best 0-330' was 6.952 sec would of liked to run the quarter mile so I could wind up in a least 4th gear. 1/8 mile is not even the top of third (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) As we know, first gear is garbage, so I was counting on getting the rpm's up in 3rd and 4th to really stretch it's legs. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/burnout.gif) My in car video camera battery died... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) Maybe I'll try it again. I got eliminated in the qtr finals (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) KT |

with all due respect I have seen front drive civics pull better 60Ft times. You must have been smokin' the tires. Having traction issues?

Beats my old citicar!
screamin fast scroll all the way down to the 96v and under (1/8 mile times) and then scroll all the way down to the 15s (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) That's my only drag racing experience...Can't wait to get the LT1 914 going and give it a try in that. My car doesn't get out of third in the qtr..... I have pulled low 13s with the old engine..
I redline in first and second and take 3rd to 8100 or so when I go through the lights.... I have not tried it with the Hybrid engine update yet.. Today Brent took it down to get aligned and rolled on the throttle a little too much... sideways then all the way around in the middle of an intersection bumping off the limiter at 8300.... lol
Jake, 8.1k is insane... Think you can build a street sbc to rev to 8+k for under $5k? Hitting 5.5k today in third today (did a third gear pull from 1.5k to 5.5k.. wow...) was fun, but 8k? that would sound amazing!!!!! Keep us posted with this stuff!!! Trekkor... What tires where you running? Did you bog or spin the tires off the line, or could you get it to launch? Andrew |

Cut him some slack. He's had that engine in the car for what, two weeks? I'm sure there is still sorting out to do before the car is at it's best. (I know you were just razzing him) Trekkor, did you do any runs launching from second gear? It would be hard on your clutch but I bet you could get some much better times not having to do that ssssssssslow 1st-2nd shift. I'm sure you've got the torque for it now. -Ben M. |

I was on my Yoko A032r's.
No second gear starts. No tire bog or spin or pre-run burn outs. The clutch felt like it was slipping at around 6Krpm's. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) I was disapointed because I just wanted the 1/4 mile data. Maybe another time. KT http://www.infineonraceway.com/ |

The power curve for your engine might get flatter at 6k. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

One cool thing about the evening was that the return trip to grid was via the road course from turn 7. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif)
The speed limit was 15mph to the time slip shack, but believe me, I was imagining 140mph through the back straight into the hairpin of turn 11. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Fantasy land... KT |
