I want to take this opportunity to apologize to the club as a whole.

Yesterday and the last 3 weeks have been a real bitch around here. The big engine has kicked my ass 100% and it has been really busy...

The deal with the rods went way out of control. I only tried to make it happen because the Mfr had the time to do it and was giving me a deal that made them affordable at the time.

It has taken alot to get the rods this far and I have been absolutely on the edge with so much going on.

I am sorry to have caused confusion, sorry to have let the club down and sorry to constantly make posts about what is going on here.

I will refine my posts from now on.

It seems that a lot of people are edgy here lately- Not just me. I guess we all need to slow down and quit complaining and snapping at the smallest thing.

So what's the deal with the rods? Gonna happen? Need how many more orders? Let us know, OK? As far as being edgy, we live in weird times. Enough said, and God Save the 914 Club! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flag.gif)

Jake, I'd like to be in a position to purchase the rods that you're working on along with other advances that you've developed, but the timing just isn't right yet for me, I got soooo much other issues with my car that are ahead, rust repair, new fuel lines, rust repair, suspension work, oh, did I mention rust repair. I've been following your work with great interest, and hope that when I'm ready, you'll be there. So all because some of us haven't taken advantage of these offers at this time, doesn't mean we aren't going to in the future. I hope you don't give up on us yet. Apology accepted, Jake. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

You weren't pushing your parts on anyone... you put the offer out there, and some... overzealous members just couldn't stand for the multiple threads to slip past page one.

I can see it from both points of view. I do hope that you continue posting - you have a tremendous amount of information and are willing to share it out of the goodness of your heart. But I also realize that you have to do what pays the bills.

No worries, Jake. I hope you realize that there are a great number of people that appreciate every post you make and I'm one of them. If it were up to me, I wouldn't change your posting habits one bit.

The club has been edgy. This sort of stuff seems to happen periodically. But things always turn around. I don't know if the people in the snow get cabin fever, or what. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

Edgy!? Yeah, we're a little edgy! How would you like it, to be cooped up in your house for 6 f-in' months of the year? Spend half your time sick and the other half freezing your ass off? And then try and cheer yourself up and see what's going on at 914Club and get even more depressed when you see all the bickering going on - and most of you guys can still drive your cars!

Actually, I think McMark is right. S.A.D. (Seasonal Affected Dissorder) is real and at least half of North Americans are stricken with it one form or another. Everybody will be fine by summer. I don't think very many people were offended by Jake's posts. I sure wasn't.

No need to apologize to me. You are one of the clubs most valuable assets. If people don't appreciate your efforts, then they can go suck on a ricers tailpipe.

S.A.D. is real and prevalent, but there are a great number that simply need to grow up.

You don't have to kill yourself to impress anyone. Your dad needs you more than we do, and THINGS like that.

Please, enjoy your life! Take a drive, and this time, instead of listening to the instruments, try to hear the song. Rip all the gauges out, and look at the scenery.

Otherwise, I expect normal people to explode about once a year, minimum....

seven, six, five, four, three... here I go!!!!

This rod deal was a good deal, but Group Buys suck...when you start a bunch say 'hell yah I'm in" then they start to bail.

Jake was just tiring to offset the cost so he could bring a wanted product to market. Sure he have benefited from this deal...so what. All the buyers would have got rods below retail.
From the start Jake said without "X" number of pre-sold rods the deal is dead.
I think those, many of who weren't in the deal to start with, should be ashamed of their comments. I know it's disappointing, but hey...get over it.

Jake can get hot-headed if provoked but some members act like... well... my 3 and 5 year-old. I've been provoked, I've seen others being provoked, the admins have stated that they’re getting pissed at the (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bs.gif)
It's time for people to chill-out

BTW I have a new product idea that I may bring out, don’t think I’ll try the group buy thing. I’ll finance it myself and announce it at full retail. If you want it, you want it.
Or maybe I just won’t bother with it…my call.

Group buys suck....not worth the discount or the head ache in my opinion.....

Personally if any vendor will offer a discount they should adminsiter the deal themselves....with the discount being on the front end or a rebate after X was sold..

I was part of a deal that went sour and got beat up for it...still pisses me off, with the vendor giving me a nervous look every time I see him at the Porsche meets. I don't need that crap....like a guy in bunny ears, foil helmet and aviator goggles would pull a squirt gun on him....

My recommendation is that people use Paypal for group buys. People either send the money right then and there or they don't and you know immediately who's in and who's out. There's also no invoices to send out. Also, guys that don't have the cash can finance it on their credit card. Yes, it costs 3% but that's a small price to pay for the ease of administration of a group buy.

hi,
Didnt know I started a firestorm...

I guess I cant make a simple point. Point was....I was just making an observation and I was trying to do it in such a simple way (not a wise ass way) so I wouldnt piss off anyone...I was hoping that people were not posting in different threads and not communicating.

Didnt mean to piss anyone off..

Oh well, strange times indeed.

Don't worry Rich,
It wasn't really what you said anyway. The camel's back was about broke already when you added your little straw.
Those of us pushing for the deal were shoveling shit against the tide. Hard to believe there weren't 50 people ready to jump in though.
Oh well, better luck next time.

Jake,

No applogies necessary. Just keep pushin the envelope and making those TIV advances. Someday work is gonna be stable enough for me to buy some Jake goodies.

With the hours you keep, I'm surprised you can talk coherently. I know I couldn't (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Now, about using vaseline on those head gaskets to sealum up......... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
