I agree with a mixmatch of parts from all the years.
73-74 for the better transmission and 2.0 engines. Door beams for safety. 72's are nice as far as they have the moveable passenger seat, early window winders (the later ones work better and are more reliable, but if "light" is what you are after, they are there - albeit only a couple pounds), no door beams (light again) no engine bay sound deadening pad, as those are sponges with water and rust out the firewall in a hurry. I'd say for a lightweight car, a 72 tub and a later 2.0 engine and side shifter tranny. Or a 6 conversion. |

A factory -6 with late-model interior and all options. And a 3.0L 911-SC engine upgrade, or a complete 930 engine upgrade.
