After 2 and a half years of reading this board, i have finally decided to pony up some cash for my comatose 914 friend. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) for the past two years it has sat in my mechanics dirt field lot pathetically kept company by a 1982 928, which has been sitting there for the past 10 years, some skeletal remains of another 914 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) , and enviously next to my mechanic's trailer coverd 914/6 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) . So today, i gave him half the deposit required to finish the rebuild. I was really EXCITED (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rocking nana.gif) until.......................
I saw another club member had his very clean, and pampered 914 INSIDE the garage waiting for his transplant of a VERY nice 3.2 liter engine (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) . i thought for a second, "i want one of those." (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) then reality set in and I had to go back to being happy about my simple upgrade to euro spec mahle pistons. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) BUT i should get it back in time for my Birthday at the end of the month, and that will be my best birthday present this decade. yeah! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rocking nana.gif) and maybe it will be WCC or bust! |

HAH!
Next time you are there, say Hi to Ken and Pat for me... I can't wait to get my car back, i'm lying in bed at night thinking about it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) We need to meet in person one of these days. Ferg. i didn't want to say it was you, but WOW! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pray.gif)
it's a beautiful engine. and be aware that Ken got very nervous when i rubbed my finger on your car to check how fresh the paint job was. he didn't want me to "scratch" it. (but i smelled fresh paint and was wondering where it was coming from. turns out it was your freshly painted engnie bay). let me know how your hole covering job goes. i need to do the same. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) I may lie in bed thinking about your car tonight too. might serve as a spark to get my wife that second kid she's been wanting. You touched my car!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif)
Just kidding. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) When you say hole covering job, you mean my access panel in my firewall? I have super secret plans for that... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) or my lack of front floor due to ac? I bought some metal from Gint's old silver car and will someday patch that... right now the 3.2 has used up all my play money and then some (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) so i'll be driving with that hole for the summer.
