Hello,
I have a '74 and the PO cut holes for speakers. I bought a pair of '72 uncut panels from a member. They are about an inch narrower than the ones they're replacing. They fit but look unusual because more of the painted edge shows and don't look right at the outside top edge of the door. Were door panels wider on later cars? |

I'm under the impression that besides the window regulator and side impact beam the doors are the same.

The early basket weave is different
The top piece is also different, but not by much Get a pair, they will fit. One early black one will not match a later black one.. |

There are differences, but the old can be used in new and visa-versa. All of the clip holes line up.
I used an early model as a template when creating a replacement from scratch for my late car. No issues whatsoever. |
