https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/5223426513.html Seller says it recently has had a new radiator and head gasket replaced But has never needed anything else Blue book is 1850 low and 2300 high So I'm not paying the asking price (3000)$ But before I do anything I always like to check here first I don't need transportation right now , so I can wait and shop around I'll only be hauling two golden retriever s , so towing power is not a concern (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) |

Truck looks pretty trashed. Or well used might be a better term. I wouldn't pay $1500 for it personally. Then again if I needed a truck I wouldn't buy it anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . I would pay a little more to get something in better shape. I am a Toyota fan in general. Just seeing a truck that beat up. Typically if it shows a lack of care on the outside. Mechanically it has probably been taken care of about the same. Not true in every case but more often than not. Keep looking there are deals out there

The T100 is a dog. Plus it wasn't popular so little aftermarket support.
Anything over 200k is going to be well worn; susp bushings, frame flex, saggy seats, crunchy gear changes or slipping slushbox. An F150 would be much better. Fairly cheap to fix since they made a million and didn't expand the parts bin when it was designed. The used car market is in free fall with all the new cars being sold. Shouldn't be hard to find a good used truck. |

Good news for me But everybody is still asking 1500 to 2000 Over excellent blue book value for their vehicles Even is the car or truck is salvaged or barely functioning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) |

Toyota Tacoma's of that vintage are well known for frame rust.
Toyota used to buy them back for well over trade in value and crush them. Had one go that way... They came out to the Waiting Room at the Dealership and told me the truck wasn't leaving. They gave me a rental car till Toyota inspected the truck and made an offer. I had to come back and get my stuff out of the truck and sign over the title and got a check... The cash was pretty good for a trashed truck. Don't know if the recall is still in effect ??? The later trucks... maybe 2000 and up, they just replace the frame. Which wasn't that great a deal, But the early trucks they were buying back. |

Lookup older 911 values... Lately I've been looking at cars to fix and flip, usually $1000 between excellent and poor. Not true in the real world with $100/hr labor rates. Sellers will usually price high, either to get a sucker or have room to negotiate to a seller friendly price. After a few weeks of fishing they tend to sell closer to actual worth. |

This I understand I know a 1997 993 is not gonna sell For k b b appraised value of 27 k But all aircooled cars aside I use blue book to determine Values of non collectable and non super cars But I know some people base the price on their gut Or off the top of their heads And am I understanding right that 100 per hour labor cost are Prohibiting you from turning a profit on the cars you fix and flip Please clarify |

The retail cost to fix junk is more than they value it. I'm looking at cars worth at least 3k that I can get for < 1k, with cheap parts and mostly easy labor. I'm not setup to do paint yet. |
