From an MSDS customer in Japan, custom built 356 mid-engine . Appears to be a Subaru engine + transaxle. Attached Image

That is one smooth build... I love it when others take the time and the initiative to step outside the box and show something slightly different. Hopefully when it's all finished the sum will exceed the total of effort and parts and the colors will only make the styling really pop! Has hints of a Z-car. No surprise, I guess.

Wow. There are more photos of that build here: http://www.porsche-luke-kobe.com/custummade.html

For example (my own personal nightmare):

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/www.porsche-luke-kobe.com-2618-1444139334.1.jpg)

That 356 starts about mid-page, but the other cars shown are equally impressive. Like I said, wow.

Good catch...I was looking all over for the radiator inlet !
Hiroshi does 2 rads, kind of boxster/cayman style...good placement "Simple" like the factory.

If I were going to do this, it would be a FG kit body on a VW pan as my starting point.

To me then it wouldn't be half as cool or interesting as this car.

It would be cooler if it was rear engine and not mid engine..

That is a fiberglass body. Still very cool with impressive build quality.
