I understand the intake runner hoses that seal the intake runners to the distributor housing on a 1.7L are no longer available. That's PN 022 133 241 B. What are people doing as a replacement? Just find some heater or radiator hose that fits tight over the tubes?

I believe those are the wrong diameter. The "039" part number makes me think that those are for the 2.0 motor, which uses larger-diameter intake runner pipes than the 1.7 does. (The 1.8 uses the same size as the 2.0 ones.)
You'll have to clamp those down quite a ways to make them fit, I believe. See if you can find radiator hose of the correct diameter, that's probably a better option. --DD |
