Does anybody know for sure, how the dashboard knobs on a 1970 USA 914-6 should look like?
on my car, they look like this: on some cars I saw an orange foglight knob instead of green on some cars I saw the foglight knob on the right side instead of the middle on some cars I saw a simply red emergency flasher knob without text on some cars I saw an emergency flasher knob with the words "HAZARD" on some cars I saw an emergency flasher knob with the same words like on my car ... so ... what's original for a 1970 USA 914-6 ... ?? |

As I understand it, the chassis and trim were manufactured and assembled in Osnabruck. /6s were then sent to Stuttgart for engine installation. The reason for this preface is by way of relating my /4 (build date 01/70) to your /6.
This picture shows the original installation of the light switches on my /4. The only real variation is the fog light indicator. When my 914 was delivered it came with the appearance package (chrome bumpers, vinyl roll bar cover, leather steering wheel, but no fog lights). The fog lights were installed at the dealer with the switch/indicator pictured. Other than the slightly different fog light switch, the placement and type are the same as yours.
