The Factory did it differently - spot welded plates with nuts

Now another issue that some have had is the front sways ripping out - thus a large reinforcement piece for use in the wheel wheel - these are 16G material.

Price - please see http://www.engmanparts.com

QUOTE (Engman @ Mar 9 2005, 04:35 PM)
The Factory added a reinforcement plate in the wheel well on cars equipped w/ sway bars from the factory. I have reproduced these.

$18.00 seperately aset - includes shipping or add $14.00 to any front sway bar mount order.

Thus the front sways w/ reinforcements - $44.50 include shipping.

Mark Just to be correct the piece the factory added was the SOLE mounting point (in each well) for the Anti-sway bar bushings.
What they did was cut 4 holes and then spot and blob weld a stamped sheet metal piece with 3 nuts afixed in the wheel well wall. No mods were made in the gas tank cavitiy.
Here are some pics of the piece autopsyed from my car in prep for restoration.
Do you offer those pieces including the nuts welded in place? I can prolly live w/o the Large hole sholder.
