Just noticed that my front tires are both wearing very fast (probably 70% after maybe 15k miles)
-I installed turbo tie rods last summer and got everything as straight as I could after finishing the job, but I wonder if this may be why the tires are wearing out so fast? -maybe too much toe-in?? the car also seems maybe overly sensitive or twitchy? what ya think? -have an allignment done, or is it normal to burn through tires this fast? I'm not tracking it, just fast street driving.. |

twichy normally means you have no toe in or have toe out, which for racing and axing is okay but on the road it sucks. and i went through a set of tires on the front of my car in 12k miles, it depends alot on what tires you have and how you drive it

I was surprised that the fronts were so worn because the rear tires are fine, I'm sure that rotating them will help, but it seems like it started once the new tie rods were added.

From what I understand after you do the tie rod replace "getting it as close as you can" is just supposed to get you to the alignment shop.
I think you must do a professional alignment after you install new tie rods. |

I think that was the plan...but the weather was nice... and it tracked straight from the start, so I think I put if off for a few thousand miles...

you might contact ed morrow to point you in the right direction for a shop to do an alignment. throw in a corner balance while you're spending.

If you just do tie-rods and don't disturb the camber/caster setting on the strut all you need to do is adjust the toe. This is easily done by a competent DIYer. Do some searches on DIY alignement.

check your tires for un-even wear patterns...
that should give you a good indication about where the allignment is off |
