Maybe 8 miles from me. If I get a chance I'll swing by next week and check it out. 8 miles? That's only like an hour each way..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) |

If you exit Alameda off of the 405, swing west and pass 223rd St., throw a high 5 at the intersection...sacred grounds of the once infamous Lions Dragstrip. PS I hear the Garlits Museum in Florida is really cool. My brother went there and the man himself was out back working on a project. Not a 914 |

This is what were looking for guys. Code 98 on the paint tag. Get the vin. and the chassis #
Look where the sun can't fade the color. This is one of three known. One was repainted painted black and one was cut up for parts. I've owned 2 of the three and the two I have are one vin # apart. I don't think this is factory Attached image(s) |

OK, No rare Raspberry 914 here.
Add VIN in the data base. I don't see it. It is a 1970 in Blue metallic. Build date 11/70 Rear bumper is from a 72 or 73 painted chrome. (I picked it) rear valence is a late one and trashed. Engine and trans are in it. Looked like a 1.7 Had middle seat seat belt, but not Porsche part. Center console tray was not an early one. Had passenger side sail panel TV antennae ! (Broken) Rear glass is good. Riviera wheels on front. Did not have a lug wrench. Not sure if they are special or just aftermarket. Had the early middle vent dash, but it was pretty cracked up. I also grabbed the early passenger seat. Back pad is gone as is the early Targa top. Brakes are all there as are all the suspension. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Pick Your Part Wilmington, CA, 90744 Anyone close-by who can verify the paint code? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Without revealing too much of your insider tip, how did you know that there was this 914 at the junk yard. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Doesn't a build date of 11 / 70 make it a '71 ? Also the third digit of the VIN being a 1 ..... make it a '71 ? |

Yes, it's a 71. Usually (don't know if always) the builds for the next model year started after the August break.

I owned a 1973 raspberry 2.0. bought it in Utah in 1983. Sold it in Virginia in 1985 (circa). I hated to see it go, but was young and needed money. It was an awesome car and in great condition. Original paint.
There were two others in Utah, both factory raspberry. One was totaled in the front around 1986. The third had a slant nose job done on it. It was all the craze back then. those are the only three I have seen in person. I think the one I sold might have gone to Pensacola. Sold it to someone going in the Navy. |

The Sunroof Edition! I want to do this to one of my spare tops. I have one with my copper metallic - came with the car when it was brought east by the P.O. a marine at 29 palms California - but the top is an early top but fits o.k. enough - use it in the hotter days keep the air moving with out exposing my head to the full heat of the sun. it is heavy though. I would say the moon roof doubles the weight of the top. |
