Looking for video on 914s I came across this vintage video I'm guessing from the late 70's link ---> 914 wreck

Turn down your volume weird music. Anyway from 1:45 - 2:20 shows a badly wrecked 914. Looks to be a 74. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I remember when that happened. I think it was someone who was on this web site a long time ago. Anybody remember this?

Ouch.

Even when you're the good driver, something terrible can happen.

No....not the same car.

I met the guy in that video at the G and R who got rear ended.

Was taking her to court and I hope he got something out of it. He was really lucky to survive at all.

Really nice guy.

Glad to hear he made it OK. Just curious if he lost a kidney, or was paralyzed as mentioned.... tough to think anybody would make it though a wreck like that in a 914 without something residual....

Ouch. That's painful to see a LE in that condition.

What'd you do?

I'm yet to drive mine, but I'm assuming you have to drive 914s like you do a motorcycle: assume you are invisible.

Assume you are a target. I had a driver in heavy traffic look me right in the eye and realize he could take my spot in the lane by sheer force, which he then did.

When driving a 914... be paranoid.

Assume everyone is actively trying to crash into you. Because they are. It has been proven to me over and over.

Keep your head on a swivel. Most people are not "drivers", they are commuters. They are fiddling with the radio, talking on the phone, or TEXTING. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

I always drive like I am invisible.

Oh.. and did I say... Be Paranoid.

One other thing. It makes you realize why motorcyclists ride the way they do. I had a conversation with a couple of bikers at a gas station, and they told me that they sometimes don't even see other bikes or very small cars like ours.
