I am in need of a Thermostat and an oil breather/filler for a '74 914. Does anyone know how to repair a thermostat or can it even be done? Found One.

What engine? FI or carbs? The 1.8L have a different breather with a bigger hose nipple. I have found several variations in the others. Is your totally missing? If not a picture of it will help.

Actually It was melted. I am building a 2.0 on a 1.8 block. Will probably be installing dual carbs.

To all of you who came through with offers and advice, thanks. I will order one from Powder Coat, but just for shits and giggles repaired the one I had using instructions from a site someone posted and guess what. Took me a couple of tries but it is now a working thermostat...so will have an extra. Thanks again to everyone.

Glad to hear that the repair process worked! I might get ambitious and try repairing the extra dead one I have. Any tips?
