A couple of trucks pulled up in the last few days and unloaded my early Christmas.
1st off is a 2.4T MFI engine that will be going into my 71 914-4. It came all the way from Aussie land if you can believe. Hard to find good MFI engines anymore. Not a trivial task getting it from the land of Oz to Portland, Oregon. Took nearly 6 months. The engine will be rebuilt with 2.2S P&C, upgraded MFI, Stoddard's new 914-6 HE's, single outlet sport exhaust, etc. Hoping for right at 200hp. Also just received today my new sport seats from Stefan and GTS Classics. Again, the wait was long (since last March), but well worth it in the end. These are his Watkins Glen seats especially designed for 914's. I opted for the raw fiberglass backs (to link up with the GT hoods I'm doing) along with lumbar support. Custom tartan plaid in Robertson Hunting Modern trim. Guess I need to get the rest of the car finished now... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Wow....all the way from Australia? I would have thought shipping would be a deal breaker The purchase price included shipping (~$900) by slow boat! I had to pay all the customs duties, handling in the States, etc...about $700. Nice! Where in Oz did it come from? I did it the other way round...got the car from the US and the engine here in Oz. Good luck..I'm slowly getting there :-) |
