I ordered a set of black plates for one of my (1960's era) cars last month - just curious if anybody has recently ordered some, and how long it took to take delivery?
This isn't what I ordered, it's just an example |

I have new black plates on order for my 911: MZGR6MT
Does anyone happen to know the procedure for exchanging one type of personalized plate for another (keeping the same plate#)? I'd like to swap my 914R plates for black but the DMV form and web site are totally unclear on how to do that. Otherwise I 'spose I'll have to go talk to what passes for a human at the DMV office... |

You have to go to DMW. Period ! Thet's no app for that or online clear instructions ! Wake up early, plant yourself at the DMW office at least 1 hour before they open, it has to be in the middle of the week. Doing so you will not waste half of your day, and you will talk to the DMW people fresh in to their work day (slight chance to talk to nicer, possible more helpful individuals) You can try reservation but to me did not make any difference, they will not respect the scheduled time. |
