While doing a quick search on eBay, I came across these Boxster/996 rear suspension parts.....nice cast aluminum with the 5 bolt flange (with hubcentric ring) and bearings

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to use this as a base for making an aluminum or even a composite steel/aluminum trailing arm to help cut down on unsprung weight.
