Something coming in the registration goodie bag. It's a legit metal plate with raised letters. This was a mid 70's plate look from Oregon. We will have extra's if people not coming want some. I'm going to check padded envelope costs for that. I'll get a better idea of costs tomorrow. Just shoot me a PM if you want one & aren't coming. All full registrant's will receive one at WCR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Tony, curt (Greenie) and I will (plan is) head out on Thursday. If you would like to come to my place on wed, I have room for the car and MH at my place and you can roll with us. I was going to wait until it was closer to the event date to start a Caravaning thread. Thanks Kevin, Jamie, I'll nail it down as we get closer, it's looking like a 8hr drive for me. Either leave at 0500-0600 or head out Wednesday. I will be trailer towing, I was thinking of a tow dolly but don't want to risk it for such a long way. |

About the only thing is I've got to be in Portland for work that Wednesday. I'll be home by 7 for sure but probably not much sooner. |

Which you would love (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . I'm sure someone would let you take a run in theirs though. We'd love to have you here Leamon. Was hoping to get your whole crew here for it. If only life wouldn't get in everyone's way. LOL! Seriously though you can fly into Medford. Hope to see you bud |

Hoping to get a little work on my car tomorrow. I have an oil leak to find. Plus a new 914rubber dash to install. We'll see how the day plays out.

Starting to make a list for the possible LongAssDriveUpToOregon
1. Helmets provided? I'm sure mine's dated 95 2. Still rooms at the host hotel? 3. Thinking of staying Sun nite also, drive back Monday leisurely. What's fun to do? 4. Make stuff to flat tow the 914 and nap in the SUV 5. Something I forgot |

9 hours from LA area? I may need more than 24 hours from Grants Pass, OR to Medford. I have not tested the pedals that move the car. LOL! Still trying to complete the car for WCR which is just 25-30 miles away.

They will have some helmet's there to rent. It's like $2 so it's cheap. I think they have 6 so they are limited. I bought 3 helmets for WCR which will be loaners that can be shared between people. All Helmets need to be Sh 2000 to be used. I would not buy a 2000 if you are considering picking up a helmet. Most AutoX they are only 2005 or newer. The 3 I bought are 2010 & will be good for years.
If the host hotel doesn't have any rooms available. The Motel 6 is right behind it. Wouldn't be much of a walk to enjoy the parking lot festivities (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) |

I bought a new Snell 2015 helmet. I hate using rental helmets. They stink! literally. I hear you. Just doesn't make sense for people who don't plan to autoX. I hope to get everyone on the track. There are plenty who this may be the only time they do. I also bought extra helmet socks. That will help with people swapping helmet's. Either way needing to rent or borrow a helmet in my book is a good thing. It means you are doing something seriously fun in your 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

So is there anything other than a helmet required for track time. Also Looking for any advice as to buying a helmet at a reasonable price. Just looking and seeing prices form $100 + to fare beyond my ability for use just a few times a year.

So is there anything other than a helmet required for track time. Also Looking for any advice as to buying a helmet at a reasonable price. Just looking and seeing prices form $100 + to fare beyond my ability for use just a few times a year. I bought a few SA2010 helmets at $119 each http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...p;condition=new These will be good for at least 5 years on the track & probably closer to 10. So when looked at that way they are pretty dang cheap. Most AutoX are still accepting SA2005 helmet's. So really the 2010 helmet should be good for 10 years. I will admit I am far from an expert on the subject. I bought a used SA2000 helmet 5 years ago. I though it was out of date but the track we are at is still accepting those this year. Although it will be the last year of the SA2000. For the occasional AutoX person like me. It isn't worth spending a lot on a helmet. So I hear where you are coming from Wes |
