Hi All,

I just removed the fuel tank in my 74 2.0. Tank has been removed at least once before by prior owners to relocate fuel pump.

The paint texture on the tank exterior looks almost like it has brush marks in it. Not what one would expect if it were sprayed so I am wondering if it was repainted with a brush.

What should correct paint texture be? Trying to decide if it needs to visit the blast cabinet.

Thx.

They were smooth spray painted in that black satin finish as used on the air cleaner, some HE-heat pipes, suspension components, etc.

The brush marks ot whatever texture was someone's idea of an easy touch-up - it wasn't fast nor slow .... just half-fast! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks. Yup, figured that was the case. One more thing to add to the "to do" list.
