OK, 2.7 type IV.

I am running a 30mm oil pump...
massive oil leaks out the rear....I have now pulled the engine the 2nd time and cleaned it all up...

My rear oil seal is suspect...I inserted it to flush with the edge of the case....

I have now tapped it in further...how far should I go??

Got to get these leaks fixed...this is really pissing me off...I also have a oil pump leak...will get in there with loctite rather than hylomar..

Pictures available if necessary..

let me have it.....!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif)

i believe it goes in until it is seated. it's a feel thing. the back (bottom...) of the seal has to touch whatever's back there - but not get over-compressed.
