Hi,
We just finished restoring a 1975 914-1.8 and need a little help with some finishing touches. Before we started, the fog lamps and odometer were working fine, now that we're finished, they don't. I've replaced the relays on the fusebox to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The odometer is mechanical. See Dave Darling's tech aricle to repair it on Pelican Parts.

Check the cable.....disconnect at the trans and run it a drill motor....if it does not register at the speedo, check the connection on the back of the speedo...disconnect, run the drill motor again....if it does turn you have a break in the cable..if it does turn most likely a gear broken in the gauge.

On the fogs, make sure the regular lights are on low beams and turned ON...they won't run on high beam.
