Well, the former rust spots and now holes have made the metal paper thin and useless.
At this early stage of FeO,the effort won't be too great, relatively speaking. Access, the engine is in the way of the repairs to be made, physically extremely difficult to make otherwise. So, the engine and trans axle must be lowered,a one hour affair. (I see now on your other repair thd you've done that). The front bottom area of your firewall must also be inspected for corrosion.(the pix look like you have a nice set of longs) The purchase of a video borescope will allow you to inspect the interior of the chassis's tubular members. The removal of debris, dust and rust powder will allow the treatment by neutralizer spray paint. Clean, and clean again, cut, match, weld, prep, clean, paint. repeat. Without the expertise of experience, all of this is a learning curve. When you make a mistake, and things get ugly, start over. First, try to patch repair a rusted scrap fender to an acceptable finish. Then, use that experience to unhole your 914. http://www.eastwood.com/blog/eastwood-chat...h-rear-quarter/ http://www.metalshapers.org/tips/white/his...-auto-aluminum/ http://guildautorestore.com/ Plain to see, some men have more experience and talent than others. https://www.google.ca/search?q=aluminum+aut...+panel+patching / |
